Goal:
Developing a mobile game from start to finish with a small team consisting of myself and two game developers.
Process:
After completing the Resident Rescue project and graduating from Mediacollege Amsterdam, I was looking forward to starting another game project. This time however, with people I did not know yet at the time.
Our objective was quite simple: make a short-burst fun mobile game about cooking.
The chef character opens up his kitchen cabinet and it is chock full of different types of ingredients. The gameplay loop is quickly swiping out the right ingredient on the chef’s command and building a higher score. In this way, our game would function as a quick and fun distraction, rather than making people slave away at their phones.
I was responsible for all the art assets visible within the game. It was a fun challenge being able to really tackle a project ‘on my own’ while utilizing the feedback from my fellow developers.
Sadly, we all had to move onto different projects, but this game project is still one of my favorites to showcase and is the reason why I’m still working on games in my free time.
