Goal:
With this illustration project, I challenged myself by writing a kid’s story about an anteater. I wanted to support this story with my very own illustration work to see how my art would work for a interactive children’s book.
Process:
This project started with me coming up with a suitable story for a children’s book. I wanted to feature an obscure animal with a fun trait, in this case a long tongue! I started writing about something everyone has experience with, eating a meal with family.
I figured out how I wanted the characters to look and got to sketching different scenes for the story. With some slight adjustments here and there for the pacing of the story.
From here on out it mostly came down finishing the illustrations and putting together a clickable prototype.
